Spring Airsoft rifles utilize a
spring as the primary power source and must be manually cocked before each discharge of the airsoft gun. They offer certain advantages over electric or gas airsoft rifles,
most notably simplicity, reliability, and perhaps best of all, affordability. Airsoft Spring Rifles generally do not require pricier seamless polished
BBs although they are often preferred for accuarcy. Also, because Spring Airsoft Rifles incorporate their power source by design, there's no need for portable gas or batteries, which means there's less gear to carry. For example, a spring powered rifle can be the preferred choice in the sniper role, where rate of fire is secondary to stealth and reliability.
